The Peak District – extremely beautiful with small market towns & spa towns, amazing countryside, stunning villages surrounded by moorland and caverns, some of which can be explored. There are many ways to explore this stunning area with walking, hiking and cycling amongst the most popular. Known locally as the Dark Peaks and the White Peaks due to the changes in the geology, the Peak District is home to many truly beautiful places including both Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

The Lake District is further north and equally as beautiful, it is also the holder of many records as it is the largest National Park in England. It is also home to the highest mountain, the longest lake, the deepest lake and although it is known as the Lake District with many expanses of water there is only one actual lake. The Lake District is immensely popular and has been the home to many famous people including the author Beatrix Potter and Wentworth who both found inspiration in the stunning scenery.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is just as stunning with scenery that takes your breath away, lovely market towns and small villages surrounded by the most amazing countryside. It is the home of one of the most famous cheese producers in England, the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can see the cheese being made and taste test the various flavours or enjoy a cheese related lunch.

The North York Moors lie on the east of the country and are as beautiful as all the other National Parks. There is stunning scenery to be enjoyed as well as the lovely towns and villages to explore. There is much for you to enjoy from walking and hiking, bike hire, horse riding and even falconry. One of the most stunning attractions in the area is the beautiful Castle Howard which stands in the middle of 1000 acre parkland.

The Northumberland National Park is made up of splendid scenery, breathtaking views and the chance to see wildlife found no where else in the country. There are many ways to explore this stunning area with walking, hiking and cycling amongst the most popular. One of the most popular places to visit are the various Roman sites in the area which include Hadrians Wall and various forts along its length.
